Worship

  • Worship is a central part of the Christian Life at South End Baptist Church.
  • Special services to observe Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter, as well as evangelistic emphases and other special times are planned during the year.
  • Children's Church is held for children in 1st through 6th grade during our morning worship service. The first half hour is worship time geared toward the kids with their own sermon. Extended Session, which is more than just a nursery, is available for the younger children . We attempt to teach and disciple even the youngest of our children.

Music

  • Music is an important element of worship at South End. Our contemporary service is led by our praise team. The songs are modern favorites (Chris Tomlin, Hillsong, etc). Our traditional service is comprised of classic hymns from the Baptist hymnal.
  • The rehearsals for the Adult Choir are on Tuesday evenings at 6:00 p.m. for one hour. Membership is open to any adult willing to make a commitment of time, energy, and prayer to the choir. The Praise Team practices on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. Those interested in joining the praise team can contact our music director Chelsey Hahn for an audition.
  • Small choral groups and soloists frequently enrich worship.
  • The church organist and pianist make essential contributions to the worship service each week.  These musicians invest much time in preparation for worship.
